PSL United SC Announce International Agreement with Sogndal Fotball

August 27, 2017

Port St. Lucie, FL – PSL United SC have agreed to a youth development partnership with Sogndal Fotball, Norway, the club announced today.

PSL United’s Technical Director, Freddie Butler, was instrumental in working this agreement out with Sogndal Fotball. Freddie spent two years coaching at Sogndal Fotball in which he achieved Championship honors and promotion to Norway’s elite division, Tippeligaen.

As a result of the agreement, Sogndal Fotball and PSL United SC will set up an exchange of coaches which will allow PSL United SC coaches the opportunity to train in Norway, as well as Sogndal coaches the opportunity to train Port St. Lucie, FL. In addition to this, Sogndal will send coaches in the summer months to train at PSL United summer camps.

Sogndal Fotball will also host PSL United SC players in Norway, offering an international experience to players and coaching staff for training and games with the potential for domestic and international playing opportunities.

Earlier in the year, three PSL United SC players were identified and received an official invite to an exclusive trial offer from Sogndal Fotball. The 2001 boys invited are Michael Smith, Dean Walker and Marc Nunes. This exclusive trial will take place in spring 2018.

“The prospect for players and coaches to train in Norway with Sogndal Fotball is an excellent opportunity to gain international experience and exposure. The addition of having Sogndal coaches and players coming here to work with PSL United will raise the level of both player and coach development within the organization. This agreement is the first step in our inaugural year that will help propel PSL United to another level and increase our vision of true player development and to provide more opportunities for both players and coaches alike" - Pete DiBernardo, President, PSL United SC
